Erickson and has practiced family law exclusively ever since. During his years of practice he has represented countless clients in all areas of family law including, but not limited to, the areas of child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, domestic violence restraining orders, and both simple and complex property division issues, including business characterization, valuation, and division. This has included successfully obtaining and defending requests for domestic violence restraining orders, negotiating multiple settlements that involved complex business structures and real estate interests, navigating a client with substance abuse issues from no contact with their child to having primary custody through both contested and uncontested proceedings, and obtaining favorable orders in pre-trial discovery disputes that have helped lead to favorable final resolutions for his clients. He has also been appointed by the Court to assist third parties and their counsel in resolving their cases at Settlement Officer Conferences and Mandatory Settlement Conferences. In addition, he has been approved by and appointed by the Court to represent minor children in connection with their parent’s child custody and visitation disputes. In October of 2019, he was approved by the California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Family Law Specialist. After years of successful practice as an associate attorney, Mark and Matt formed the partnership Erickson Family Law LLP where they will continue to effectively represent clients with family law issues. Matt is an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and San Jose Sharks fan. In his spare time, he enjoys playing ice hockey, attending sporting events, seeing live music, and spending time with his wife and best buddy, Kodi, the dog he and his wife rescued in 2017 and can be seen around the office from time to time.
